Unemployment up in Arctic Norway

Unemployment in the county of Troms, northern Norway, was up 67 percent year-on-year in March. Still, unemployment in the region is on a modest three percent level.

By the end of March, unemployment in Troms totaled 2502 individuals, which is three percent of the regional workforce. That is about 1000 people more than in the same period last year. Also the other two northern Norwegian counties, Nordland and Finnmark, have seen an increase in unemployment over the last months.
