Finnish foreign trade continues down
New figures on Finnish exports and imports show that the Finnish industry still is in a state of crisis.
Statistical figures from February show that exports were three percent down compared to the corresponding 2009 level, while imports were down two percent.
The continuing decline in exports to Russia is one of the reasons for the negative figures, Yle reports. Exports to EU countries were up by three percent.
As BarentsObserver reported, Finnish trade relations with Russia have shown signs of revival after last year’s major downturn. Russian-Finnish trade dropped from a turnover of 22.38 billion USD in 2008 to 13.11 billion USD in 2009.
