Russia plans establishment of new Climate Centre
Plans for the establishment of a new national climate centre will this month be presented to the Russian Security Council.
The centre will help enhance monitoring of weather conditions and environment, leader of the country’s Hydro-meteorological Agency Aleksandr Frolov told newspaper Kommersant. The plans have been elaborated together with the Russian Academy of Science and will be presented to the Security Council before the end of August, he says. The project include several important parts, among them the studying of factors which influence weather and climate, as well as studies of consequences and preventive measures, Frolov says.
