Shtokman production ship to be built in Arkhangelsk
The Shtokman production vessel is planned built in Arkhangelsk Oblast, the Sevmash yard claims.
According to the shipyard, the biggest in Russia, the Italian-owned company Saipem plans to build the floating production unit for the Shtokman project in Severodvinsk (Arkhangelsk Oblast).
A press release from Sevmash reads that the Shtokman vessel will be the biggest and most complex order ever handled by the yard. The operation will also help the yard modernize and become more competitive, deputy General Director Valery Borodin says.
As BarentsObserver reported, the Saipem company was on a visit to Sevmash in May.
