Dramatic drop in Finland’s GDP
The Finnish GDP in the second quarter of the year dropped 9,4 percent year on year. The country’s exports in the period shrunk more than 30 percent.
Compared with the first quarter of the year, the drop was 2,6 percent, figures from Statistics Finland show.
“The volume of exports contracted by 30,2 percent and that of imports by 27,7 percent year-on-year. In the second quarter, the volume of private consumption contracted by 3,4 percent and investments decreased by 11,7 percent from one year back”, a press release from the Finnish statistics service reads.
